Position: Seasonal Support, Part-time and Full-time
Abide A While Garden Center, a locally owned favorite for over 60 years, is looking for friendly, dependable seasonal team members to help keep our garden center running smoothly during our busy season.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist other employees unloading deliveries of plants and pottery
- Stock and organize plants and products throughout the garden center and greenhouses
- Load customer’s purchases as necessary
- Assist with watering and caring for plants as needed
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
- Provide general support to our team
What We’re Looking For:
- Reliable, hard-working individuals with a positive attitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in outdoor conditions
- Willingness to work as part of a team and pitch in wherever needed
- Perfect for active retirees, college students, and anyone who enjoys fresh air and plants

Garden Center Sales
Garden Center Sales
Position: Full-time or Part-time
Overview: The Garden Center Sales Associate contributes to meeting sales goals by naturally engaging the customer on common interests in gardening, as well as sharing plant and product knowledge and care.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and offer assistance to every customer
- Exceed customer expectations by suggesting combinations of plants based on customer’s needs, offering care tips and overall advice for successful gardening
- Learn current and correct information about plants, plant care and planting procedures from department managers
- Uphold all visual and operational standards including maintaining a clean and organized sales floor and restocking, pricing and watering as necessary
- Work with other team members to complete tasks and goals
- Deliver a smooth shopping experience for each customer from entrance to checkout
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Naturally build genuine relationships with customers over common interests in gardening and plants
- Must have a friendly and outgoing personality
- Show strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Must have a passion for plants and a desire to learn
- Exhibit outstanding customer service skills
Requirements
- A general knowledge of gardening in the lowcountry is preferred
- Willing and able to work outside during all weather conditions
- Must be able to work standing and/or moving 100% of the day
- Flexibility during holiday busy times and on Saturdays
- Must be 16 or older

Houseplant Greenhouse Sales
Houseplant Greenhouse Sales
Position: Full-time and Part-time Availability
Overview: The Houseplant Sales Associate contributes to meeting department sales goals by naturally engaging the customer on common interests with houseplants and tropical plants.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and offer assistance to every customer
- Exceed customer expectations by suggesting combinations of plants based on customer’s needs, offering care tips and overall advice for success
- Learn current and correct information about plants and plant care
- Uphold all visual and operational standards including maintaining a clean and organized sales floor. Assist in restocking, pricing and watering as necessary
- Work with other team members to complete tasks and goals
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Naturally build genuine relationships with customers over common interests in gardening and plants
- Must have a friendly and outgoing personality
- Show strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Must have a passion for plants and a desire to learn
- Exhibit outstanding customer service skills
Requirements
- A general knowledge of houseplants and their care
- Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to work outside in a covered greenhouse standing and/or moving most of the day
- Saturdays are required. We are closed on Sunday

Cashier
Position: Full-Time and Part-Time Cashier
Overview: We’re looking for a friendly face for the Cashier Position. This cashier position is a vital role in the operations of our business. You’ll be working at the registers both inside the gift shop as well as outside in the annual greenhouse.
We’re looking for someone with a knack for customer service and a love for all things plants and home! We’ll train you in our company policies and in operating our POS system. During downtime, you’ll do some light cleaning, keep the register area tidy and assist in pricing.

- Ability to handle high volume transactions with ease

Gift Shop Sales Associate
Position Type: Part-time including Saturdays
Responsibilities:
- Learn Abide A While’s product lines & designers and share knowledge and information about them with customers
- Help maintain a clean and well kept shop
- Perform daily checklists with opening and closing procedures
- Work with other team members towards daily, weekly and monthly goals
- Price and restock merchandise as necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Provide an exceptional shopping experience for each customer showing superb customer service and positive energy
- Ability to work alone and as a team. Being a team player is a must!
- Detail-oriented
- Have an eagerness to learn and be a part of a greater team
- Must be comfortable handling money and learning/working a POS system
- Ability to think quickly and jump in where needed
- Must be comfortable on their feet for the majority of the day
- Previous retail experience is a plus
- Fridays and Saturdays are required
